Today I want to talk to you about Medbridge.
I have been using this portal for a year and a half to keep up to date and to educate my patients.
Medbridge is a USA Startup founded in 2011 that aims to provide healthcare professionals (physiotherapists, orthopedic technicians, and nurses) with everything needed to manage, evaluate, and treat patients.
It is a complete platform, it has more than 1100 courses, and with an annual subscription of $ 425 (discounted up to $ 300 with the promotional code), you can also have an app to assign exercises (over 6000) and to educate the patient on pathologies providing a set of indications on posture, load management, mobilization, training of caregivers, etc. In short, a complete app.
Why do I use it?
First of all, I have an economic advantage, with only around € 250 per year I can have access to all training courses with the best experts such as Chad Cook or Robert Donatelli.
Then I can study where and when I want without registering for the various courses, moving, taking holidays or permits, paying for the hotel, etc.
If I have a patient with a particular problem and want to refresh my memory, I have to choose the right course.
Also, well, you know those patients who always lose the exercise sheet or do not do them because they have not understood well how to perform them?
With the app, they not only have a description and a video, but by clicking on the "go" button, you have to follow the instructor, and you also have the correct times (you can set an alarm that warns the patient every time he has to perform the exercises)
What limits the use?
Basically, one thing, CEU. Unfortunately, the courses are not recognized in EU countries ( except some in the UK), but I hope, and the more we are enrolled here, the more we will be listened to, that in the future they will be accredited. I have tried many
providers that provide distance learning, but I swear to you that nobody offers a service like Medbridge.
Then the language you need to know English, and this can be a problem for those who don't know.
Despite everything, I continue to use it because it allows me to be competitive and always updated without having to cover up in thousands of reviews.
Medbridge enterprise, how does it work?
The next step is the Enterprise model that I activated this year.
It is intended for organizations or physiotherapy centers. At least 5 users are needed to activate it. The cost, if you are in 5 people, is equal to the premium.
What does it offer compared to the premium subscription?
At the training level, the courses are the same. Only one manager is appointed who can assign lessons and check if the other physiotherapists are following them.
As far as the exercise app is concerned, the offer is attractive;
the patient not only executes the program but records the activity by marking how many exercises they have done, if they have been painful or if they have been too easy or too difficult.
All this will be sent to the physiotherapist's platform who will monitor the activity and can change the program according to what the patient reports.
In addition, an app messaging system puts the patient in contact with the therapist for any clarifications on the exercises, etc.
There is also a Telehealth service, currently not available in the EU (but if we are many, most likely will activate it) that allows you to make video calls to update the card.
In addition, if a study has multiple clinics, it can control patient management training through the portal.
In conclusion, I can say that I am delighted. Yes, there are limits for us Europeans, but having the best of world training available and a convenient app that facilitates and stimulates the patient to follow your indications from a value to the price that pay.
